Friday, January 25, 2013---Adam joined us for a trip to the La Braea Tar Pits. Amazing collection of fossils.
Hurray for Hollywood! So, I am trying to catch up on posting. We had little, if any, phone and wifi service up in the mountains and in the redwood forest. Of course we could not leave LA without walking down Hollywood Blvd. My brother Adam met up with us and we had lunch and walked for a bit checking out the sites. Unfortunately we were unable to get a good photo in front of Mann's Chinese Theater because it was the premier of the new movie Hansel and Gretel.

Hiked a portion of the Dana Point Headlands trail. They gave us a pair of binoculars at the visitors center. We saw a few Anna's hummingbirds and California thrashers. Mattie decided to find out for herself why it is called a prickly pear. Teag and Bubba looked for animal prints and found one they decided was made by a bobcat.
